WEDDING: Hilderbrand-Hammet, Marietta Country Club, 1/9/10

Katie Hilderbrand and Jason Hammet met with me late April 2009. Katie had a specific design in mind for her cake. Two shades of grey ribbon with different textures (satin and grosgrain) around each layer, with a bow adorned with a beautiful broche and long streamers draped down the front of the cake. It was exquisite.

The cake flavors alternated between White cake filled with Amaretto and Red Velvet cake filled with Cream Cheese. Yummy.

Jason's groom cake is named "Berrylicious" .... chocolate cake, filled with chocolate buttercream, frosted in fudge and topped with strawberries ... tuxedo's, white chocolate drizzled, chocolate drizzled, chocolate covered.

Here's a note from Katie:

Thank you SO very much for such beautiful cakes on our wedding day! Everyone LOVED both cakes and we're still getting calls about who made them - so expect some more clients in the future! They really were fabulous and we thank you wholeheartedly for being such an intregal part of our wedding day. I can't wait to send you the pro pictures!"

Well, she doesn't have to send the pro pics because Janet Howard (Blue World Studios) has already sent them. Thanks, Janet - awesome job as usual.

WEDDING: Kemp-Kelly, Windermere Country Club, 1/9/10

I've known Liz Kemp for about 5 years ... she is a part time cake assistant (helping me with deliveries) and a full time friend. When she walked through my door with Tim Kelly, I knew she had met the man of her life.

Liz, like so many of my brides, had a definite design idea for her cake ... and this idea was a first for me. Airbrushing a stencil design onto a cake. It was definately a two-person task, but the results were pretty darn good. Add hot pink peony's and black feathers and you've got a stunning cake.

I'm definately going to get into this (airbrushing) more .... it's very different. The stencil designs can be expensive, but worth it, and you can tailor it to any color scheme.

We kept Tim in the dark for a long time about the design of his groom cake. It wasn't until I arrived and set the cake up, he saw it for the first time. He's a major Notre Dame fan (Go Irish) so the Fighting Leprechaun was very appropriate.

Clay and I were guests at this wedding, and it was a pleasure to see the joining of these two very special people. We wish you many years of love and happiness. Thank you for allowing us to play such an important role on your special day.
